As a trained IT specialist for application development, he will continue to support the KTI/Avanis Group team. Anton has been with us since 2020 and, together with his team, is responsible for programming this website, among other things. In his private and professional life, the 23-year-old parkour runner loves challenges and speed. He took the time to answer a few questions to introduce his workplace and his tasks to our future trainees.
»As a child, I enjoyed playing video games—as I'm sure many others did. But I always wondered how it all worked. That sparked my interest. I then entered the IT field through a school-based training program to become an IT assistant. That's where I discovered my love of programming. And with my training as an IT specialist for application development, I was able to build on that directly at KTI/Avanis.«
»Programming and developing solutions is simply an exciting thing to do. The IT sector is the least static—everything is in flux. A better solution can always be found somewhere in the world—which means you have to rethink your own solution. So a lot of things are unpredictable. I like that challenge.«
»As an application developer, I am of course mostly found in front of the screen. We program a wide variety of applications for both companies. This includes developing and maintaining online presences, the web shop, and programming interfaces. Unlike at large development companies, here you get an insight into the entire spectrum of development work.«
»I started my training right at the beginning of the first year of the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, all IT professions were undergoing a restructuring in terms of content. As a result, things seemed a bit disorganized at school at first. Here at the company, I witnessed the move to the new company building firsthand: that was, of course, a special moment for everyone. Overall, I settled in quickly and the work processes also settled down quickly. What I like most here is the variety of tasks and the freedom in development work. My department is also not that big and everyone is quite young – we quickly got on very well with each other. The atmosphere here is just right.«
»You should have an interest in the background information. And you should also be willing to acquire knowledge yourself. You also have to learn how to Google properly. If you want to understand what happens when you open a website, application development is the right place for you. But you should also have a certain tolerance for frustration: troubleshooting can sometimes take a long time—but it's just as important as the actual programming.«
»First of all, I need some distance from school. But I will definitely look for areas in which I can further specialize. In the IT sector, you simply have to keep learning and developing your skills. I'm looking forward to lots of exciting projects here at the company!«
